The Musterkiste Samples Collection "wood species" contains 26 samples of natural European wood species.

Alder, ash, beech, birch, cherry, European chestnut, common hornbeam, Douglas-fir, elm, false acacia, horse chestnut, larch, lime, maple, pear, pine, European plane, plum tree, poplar, oak, silver fir, spruce, yew, walnut, Weymouth pine, wild service tree.
The samples are 74 x 105 x 18 mm in size, each with a label in English and German. The woods are untreated to retain their natural impression: temperature, hardness, weight and aroma. They are presented in a solid box made from maple wood (size 18.5 x 27.5 x 8.5 cm).

An accompanying booklet provides details about the trees’ origins and the properties and application areas of their wood. The samples collection is coupled with an online database of wood materials and their usage and provides links to further information sources. The samples collection provides both competent information for professionals as well as a sound basis for education and training measures.
