The CAN-LIN-BUS test stand was provided by the Volkswagens AG from original construction
units VW-Golf 5 (PQ35). Special value was put with the conception on a close-to-reality
representation of the components and their connections, so that original documents
and connection diagrams of the Volkswagens AG can be used.
The lighting system is only one subsystem from the system VW-Golf and the individual
subsystems over the CAN data lines information exchanges there and information divides,
emerges also with the actually intact system lighting system error messages in the
error memory, which refers to missing information from other controllers, e.g. the
engine equipment. That is didactically desired in this case, since so on the one
hand the cross-linking of the lighting system with the other systems of the vehicle
becomes clear and an extension of the lighting system with other vehicle systems
over the CAN bus is possible on the other hand at any time.
In the course of the production Golf changes at electrical system are made factory-installed
again and again, i.e. that the vehicles of different model years differ, one cannot
rely thus on the fact that the line colours indicated in the circuit diagrams agree
with those in the vehicle and/or at the lighting wall. It would not be to be simplified
possible in principle the lines, that would be however to the one practical and
on the other hand is also questionable it whether the user the available the documents
(e.g. ERWIN) agree with the version of the plant. In this case it is more meaningful
and practical to orient itself at the pin designations of the patch cords. Both
in the circuit diagrams and also are indicated at the plugs. Thus the looked for
lines can be assigned free of doubts.
For the connections between the original components no standardized patch cords
(e.g. Sub-D-plugs) are used, but the original connections. While handling these
plugs it is to be made certain that many types have a bolting device, which is to
be opened with the loosening of the patch cord. With the release plugs and clutch
must be seized, in no case may on the lines be pulled in each case, since otherwise
easily the pins from the plugs tear. By the assembly of the components on a raster
plate will all lines and patch cords accessible, it can thus as at the vehicle measurements
of the pins of the plugs be accomplished.
